Lest we Froget
I'm not gonna lie to you.
I need Remembrance Day because it's the first day off in a couple of weeks for me, and it's the only day off for a month or so to come.
I've got the Friday off as well, but that'll be spent on Isambard, putting up trim, painting, etc.
Amazingly, The Boy has suddenly had a fit of being reliable, so he may find that this throws some work his way. Basically, he could end up being the Isambard groundskeeper.
Ooh, also excitingly, the Project Manager has endorsed continuing to take the Peanuts to daycare by bicycle, which is_awesome_ because they love it and I love it and I think they're going to be warm enough because there will be two of them in a tiny plastic box.
At work, all is well, some amazing projects are going ahead, most of them on my shoulders.
Oh, other neat thing, I"m starting to take some steps back from some of my volunteering commitments so that I can focus on being BETTER at a smaller number of things, as opposed to being mediocre at a large number of things

Way too damn busy
Good lord we're busy.
I mean, I have garbage on the back porch piled to the rafters (slight exaggeration), and the basement looks like a hurricane hit it.
I know one good day off will take care of all of it, but wow.
Also, my days off seem to correlate 100% with having both Peanuts at home to take care of, so nada gets done. I end up cramming stuff in around the...
Oohhhh. maybe I could light the whole back yard fence, that would help get things done after work. And I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take much to do, as I have a nearby plug in that would work very nicely for it.
Or I could do it with external floodlights?
Well, there went that blog post right off the rails.
Sigh

Monies
So I'm all freaked out because our Line of Credit (LOC) is at 37K
We redid the whole basement a couple of years ago and it cost like 1/4 Million or something, and I had a plan to have it all paid off by 2017, and I was so glad because we got it all paid of fby May of 2015, and then the LOC went back up because we built a new roof and a new deck, and now I'm all sad because with two kids in DayCare we're not going to be able to pay it off by 2017 after all, and and and and..
... a voice said "Dude, you did pay it off by 2017. Now you're paying off something else."
And I felt better.

Hospitality
Holy Hannah, I just realized that between our Friday night Wee Ones & Whisky event, and our Sunday night dinner, we hosted like 12 people at our house.
I LIKE entertaining, and I want to do more of it. But then I realized we do do more of it. More than almost anyone else I know. But I love it. So let's do more.

Insomnia
I've come to welcome that one to two-hour period where I lie in to dark unable to sleep as just another nighttime pest, like the cat sitting on me, or a party at the neighbour's. I'm not getting any more sleep, but I mind less.
EDIT: Also, turning off the damn phone before I lie down, and passing an hour reading has made a HUGE difference. Goddamn phone

Deep breathing
I had a good moment last night; Peanut #1 woke up Peanut #2, and I had to put #2 down as #1 was all the Project Manager's problem at that point.
There was nothing she needed, nor anything I could do, So I just chilled out with her on my shoulder while she SCREAMED at me. And you know, I kept my cool.
The trick was to consciously and repeatedly unclench my jaw.
And I wondered if it would be a useful technique for when work is making me crazy. So I will try that and let you know how it all turns out.
