It's 6:30, which is the smack dab middle of the hour between when I wake up and when The Project Manager and Peanut wake up. It's very quiet, only the dumb cats are rampaging around. The eldest, the flat headed cat, is totally deaf these days, but she's doing fine otherwise.
Work on the house is coming along fine, and we're slowly working our way through one room at a time to finish things. That means that today I should get some paint onto some crown moldings before I get them installed... -goes to check whether he has white paint- I have white paint.
So if I can get even a little painting done while Peanut has her nap, that will be awesome. I have to paint while she naps because the painting takes place in the garage, right? Thus is my life.
Tonight is also the Project Manager's staff Christmas Party, which is so like Fezziwig's Christmas Party as to blow your mind.
So that's what is what!
Oh wait, work. Work is totally awesome. We're restructuring a bit, and giving me a bit more responsibility. But like just a tiny tiny bit.
Peanut can walk, though she's nervous about it, she can say a lot of things but only in her own language, and she still sleeps like a boss.

A great week!
So this is a week of goodness here!
Peanut's growth is back on track, thanks to the Grandma's and their home cooking, and she's a flourishing little machine at this point, very good at sitting, and working on trying to locomote forwards rather than backwards, and trying out all the new fun sounds she can make.
The Project Manager and I are incredibly busy, with house and shows and entertaining (we have a show this weekend, and I have another gig on Saturday), then we have prep and rehearsals etcetera on Sunday.
Oh yah and we both work full time, too, and there's a house that needs maintenance, etc.
Still, a good week! Lots of laughter and fun, lots of carrying on and enjoying ourselves, but we really do need a day or two off. I mean, literally, full-time work, social commitments, church, chores... there's no end to it . NO END.
But hey! Cuba in a few months, that will count, right?

Things at work that are good:
From Sept 09
Boss has gone away: good
Boss has given me his corner office: better
Boss has given me his truck: even better
I have a badge: WOOOOOOOOOO!

Found in a bottle:
And the wind is a howling! It came on faster than I thought, and harder, too.
The raft is beseiged by sea-birds who seem to think that their
presence stabilizes the raft. The Glade cutting is safely stowed
under a box... I seem to be ready. The sky is dark, and in fact I can
no longer tell which way is east... No idea where the wind is pushing
me.
I should tether myself to the raft, but I don't seem to have the
energy. It's not too late for me to pull into a safe harbour, but
again, I don't have the energy.
So I'm sitting in the middle of the raft, leaning and bending as the
raft tips and wallows. The first big slant of the raft bowled me over
but once I realized the storm had hit I took my balancing very
seriously....
the paper from here down is torn off

Mid-life crisis
I had my mid-life crisis the other day, when I realized that I am close to dead than being born, or maybe it's when I realized that 40 is closer than 30, or something... I don't really know the cause.
Anyway, it showed up, I was upset for about 2 minutes... then it went away.
Peanut is doing very well, and is a perfect little baby. We still need to fatten her up, but we're doing that ok, and everything will be fine.
We've started this mass Friday night daycare arrangement, where we take in other people's children and look after them, and everyone reciprocates with each other. Tonight we are hosting a couple of little gaffers, then next week Peanut is off to someone else's house while our Burlesque troupe has a show!
We had a lovely evening last night on the front porch of our neighbours' house, where we drank a lot of beer and talked, mostly about sex.

Angry with Crazy People
(Not a humble post)
I'm done with crazy people.
If you think fluoride is a poison, you're out.
If you think Mens Rights is a legitimate cause, you're out
If you call Muslims terrorists, but don't think you're racist, you're out...
UNLESS YOU KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.
'Cause that's crazy. And I AM OUT OF TIMW FOR YOUR CRAZINESS.
Crazy Face.

Back at work!
I am back at work, and the newbaby is happily at daycare.
It's really exciting to be back at work; I missed it. It was nice to be home with the newbaby, but the time just flew by. I wish you could take paternity leave with toddlers, that would be more interesting.
It's kinda amazing to be once again in the child care, out the door, do I have my lunch, who's picking up the kid routine again. It really is a bit of a crusher and I'm relearning old copng techniques. Some bad, some good.
Sometimes I have infinite patience, sometimes the tiniest thing is OVERWHELMINGLY STRESSFUL.
:)
