12.2.21

As per my last post

I am _tired_ and listless these days.

I mean, the pull crank on my motor still works and I can get fired up, but it takes more work than it did a month ago, for sure.

Will this fade as winter fades? I suspect so!

11 months in

So it turns out that I am good with ... <gestures at everything> for about 11 months

This week is the one where I think I've run out of patience. I want to see my friends, I want to hug people I treasure, I want to GO places, like schools and businesses. I'd like to see my extended family, I'd like to play boardgames face to face... stuff like that

I mean, I've done REALLY well, compared to most. I am _good_ at staying home. But it turns out I run out of steam about 11 months in.

How are we all?

Well, the Peanuts are in good shape, and Peanut #1 is starting to show some emotional-management skills, as she matures a bit, and this is good.

Peanut #2 is getting very good at more or less everything; she's a smartypants

The Project Manager is good, but stressed and working on too many things too fast.

We're continuing to build our garage suite, but it's going sloooowly.

My running is going really well, (he says as he ices his knee )

Packing the car for life

"I think you can leave this behind"

"NO. I PUT A LOT OF WORK INTO IT AND IT BRINGS ME JOY"

"Yah, but it's just.. it's just a bunch of anger"

"YAH. BUT IT'S ALL I HAVE"

"But you have boxes of happiness back here, don't you want to pack those instead?"

"PFFT"

What to talk about today

I have literally no thoughts worth writing down. Like none.

But I've had a very nice day, and a very nice few days, actually.

I'm crazy busy, and that's nice... OH I KNOW SOMETHING:

We're about to start demolition of our old garage, and that's very exciting! It'll be longer than our current garage, and have a suite on top, so that's very exciting.

And it might, just, fit our car, and all my tools, roo

:D

Unpleasantness

So the Patriarch of the family has had my step-sister and her husband and their kids up to his house for a visit.

Not sure how much isolation they did, and it's blatantly against the law where they live.

So not sure how to manage that.

Running

So I've taken up the running in a big way.

In April of this year I was powering along pretty well, but at a very consistent 11kph and plateauing there.

Then I hurt my foot playing with the Peanuts in the playground and had to take a month off, no running.

When I started up again, I realized that if I was going to do this, I wanted to be _really_ good at it, so I found a coach and off I went.

My goal, stated training goal, was to do 15km in 1:15 by October. And sure enough, in October of this year I ran 15km in 1:11.  But then I wanted the next thing to do.

So now I'm training up for a half-marathon. In the running world, it's not really a big deal, it's pretty mundane. But for me it's a big deal.

So now I run _a lot_. 60km a week, usually, and two of those runs are hard runs with fast speeds and long distances. And the rest of the runs are easy little recovery runs. But they're still competitive training, right?

So today my easy little recovery run is 12 km.
