Vacation time
1. I was running to work yesterday, and I wanted to just keep running and running
2. I barked at one of my best staff and had to go back and apologize
3. I am angry at my boss every day for... just being him.
TIME FOR A VACATION. In 24 hours I'll be in Italy with the Project Manager and Peanut #1!

I'm not even sure where I'm at...
Busy, I guess?
Stretched too thin?A bit short on sleep,
There's a lot going on with work with impending layoffs and that's a stressor. The Peanuts are really doing well, like, really well,
We are working on getting more organized, and that's good, but also not what we're good at, so .... it's hard work. I could use another day in the week to get things done, but that's not likely.

Things are all coming along nicely...
As far as I can tell!
I mean, I should write about something, but ... it's pretty much business as usual here.
It is colder than blazes in Prairie Metropolis this week, and so that's a thing, I guess. I remember when my X and I bought the place, there was a real cold snap and the furnace ran 24 hours a day and lost ground the whole time.
Now, the furnace comes on, does its thing, and then shuts off most accommodatingly. I do need to fix the weather stripping in two places. One in a place where the cat clawed it, and once around the front door where it has never really fit properly. That's ol' owner's fault, because he was an idiot who did stuff wrong...

Christmas
I think this was the best X-Mas I've ever had!
I didn't hate Humanity even once, and I had a good time in small gatherings and small gatherings alike.
INTERESTING how this correlates with the highest level of physical activity I've ever had. It also correlates with being the oldest I've ever been so maybe that's a thing too
As I look back, this has been a trend of getting better and better at this every year.
Go me!

A bit of hither and yon
The Peanuts are in great shape, and sassy as sass monsters, and all seems well and ready to roll for Xmas at our house.
I think _I_ am ready for Xmas, I think?
There's a thing at work, where money is tight, and I'm stopping being slow, because my joy in my work came from getting things done, and I'm not doing a lot of that.
I used to get a jump out of _solving_ problems, and I don't seem to be able to do that these days with people being so cautious to do anything.
It feels like one of those moments where we can, with some effort, push forward hard into a new way of doing things.

Peanut #2
So Peanut #2 is a very energetic young child, and this has started to cause some minor issues:
1) She cannot concentrate for long, often. But she can, sometimes.
2) She cannot. stop. talking. for. 10. seconds. This is causing some stress in the school system.
3) The combination of not concentrating and not shutting up is making it difficult to teach things.
So I shall approach this in the Familial Way: I shall read to her, and only her thank you very much Peanut #1 get out of our faces please, on her own, every night, so that she gets used to sitting and absorbing. And we may even keep track of her siting and concentrating and reward her accordingly.

Xmas busyness
So far so good with not hating Christmas! Yay!
We had a lovely morning yesterday all at home together, like domestic bliss. It was cool! Then we got crazy super busy again, as we do. But the morning was super.
It becomes... it becomes a challenge to our commitment to Church, unfortunately.
Because it is our _only_ unencumbered family time... .well, ok, maybe Sunday afternoons. But those are also prime errand times.
Anyway, it was nice, and I've bought some essential Christmas presents and not hated humanity and that's all good.
