Russia etc.

 Well.

I'm just gonna say it...

We are in a place right now where it is genuinely possible that Russia will nuke a western city.

If I lived in London, or Paris, I'd be genuinely worried. They're close enough to be hit quickly, but far enough from Russia to be a minimal impact for Russia.

TERRIFYING

Covid waning here

The Peanut #1 is over her isolation, and Peanut #2 is thriving here in the house by herself, with time to read and play lego and so forth.

I am in Prairie Metropolis's production of La Boheme, and it's good fun, but it's a lot of time commitment. I'm a waiter, and a guard, so my waitering is a lot of work.  It kinda means a lot of lost evenings.

We have a tenant for our new garage suite, a retired sommelier and cook, who is looking to downsize, which is perfect. We hope he will take the place!

Into Covid

So Peanut #1 has tested positive for Covid.

She's partially vaccinated, so she has to stay home for 10 days, but... Peanut #2 gets to stay home for 14 days! boooo

She was sick as a dog last night, so we tested her and got the faaaaaaintest positive result, which everyone says you need to treat as a positive, so we consider that.

This morning, she wakes up full of sass and energy, but we test her again out of an abundance of caution, and we get a solid clear positive.

So we have four different people working from home today, and I'll take the brunt of childcare over the next few days, as we did before, because the Project Manager needs to bring home the bacon!

Into the Covid we gooooo

 Two things

1) I am in a Big Show this month, and their Covid protocols are... well they're strict.  It's sobering to think how lucky I have been to work from home, and how this is how a lot of people take on each day.

Also, I give Big Show about 50% chance of actually happening

2) This transition to endemic Covid, which we are going through, because our Prairie Province government is insane, will be No Good. Their plan is based on rapid testing and masking, and no one has rapid tests and no one can get adequate masks.

It's also insane to make this transition in the middle of highest numbers. That's... that's a thing.

22.12.21

This week has been both...

Both a welcome relief and a sense of "oh right I hate this season".

I've had to reup my effort put into self-care, and that has been good, and rewarding, and generally I feel better on the days when I don't treat my body like a garbage tip.

Man...

Nothing here I haven't said before, but I distinctly feel like Xmas is something that happens to me, not something I am a part of.
