Today was a crazy busy day.
But in a hilarious way: The Project Manager and I often joke about having Help in our house, and today with our maid and the chimney sweep here at the same time it was almost it!

Today:
1) Peanut #1 has a sore throat. It's mandatory Self-Isolation for her, until she gets her test tomorrow!
2) The school bus was going to be AN HOUR late. So we think the Bus Driver quit, because The Boy With No Impulse Control played with the steering wheel yesterday.
3) The painter's kids are also out of school today, so he has to bring them to paint the house
4) The Project Manager and I decided to try and resolve, between us, the inconsistencies in Prairie Province's various sources of information, despite neither of us being experts in this.
5) I was supposed to be at work to cover for a colleague who finally took some vacation time, but then Peanut #1 needs me at home, so now Someone Awesome is covering for me covering for someone else.
6) The Tiny Torment escaped from the house.
ALL THIS SAID... we're fine, and we're very lucky to BE fine.
The Peanuts' school experience has been good so far!
Interesting to note that Peanut #1's brand new Grade 2 teaches doesn't require indoor shoes. This is very modern and I like it.
Ballet is resuming, and the classes are _tiny_. Somehow I booked Peanut #1 into five dance classes a week, which is a bit much, but she's keen, so... HOORAY!
Peanut #1 also had her Frenectomy yesterday, so she's swollen a bit today and looks like a woodpecker, but hopefully this helps with her sleeping and her peeing at night. We'd really like her to not have to wear a pull-up any more!
School starts tomorrow! I give us 3 weeks before there's a major interruption
The Peanuts go back tomorrow for 3 days this week, and those days are gonna be PRODUCTIVE, I swear it.
Also, the Project Manager and I are gonna go on a date for sure...
Also, my running is going great, but it's gone from a thing I can do with friends to a fairly lonely endeavour, because no one I used to run with can keep up with me
Well, Wayne, now that we're at final steps, who should shoot the puck at the net?
Well the Peanuts are going back to school, and here's what it will looks like:
They will put on their masks, and grab their lunch boxes (no backpacks), and head for the bus. They will get on the bus and sit in assigned seats (not with their cousins) and ride to school.
They'll go into school, and take their boots off, and go direct to their classes. Everything they bring in will go under their seats and they will sit along in their little desks and learn!
They'll have a recess of some kind, likely at a different time than another class, and they'll eat their lunch in their classroom.
Two weeks into the school year, the on-line lessons will become available and if they can't go to school they'll be able to learn.
That's the plan anyhoo!
I'm back in my office this week, for the week, and it's ... ... good to be back?
I didn't think it would be, but so far, day 1, it's ok!
We'll see how I manage domoestic chore-ing what has to get done when I get home, of course.
I'm less upset and bewildered about than I thought I would be.
