School prep continues

 Well the Peanuts are going back to school, and here's what it will looks like:

They will put on their masks, and grab their lunch boxes (no backpacks), and head for the bus. They will get on the bus and sit in assigned seats (not with their cousins) and ride to school.

They'll go into school, and take their boots off, and go direct to their classes. Everything they bring in will go under their seats and they will sit along in their little desks and learn!

They'll have a recess of some kind, likely at a different time than another class, and they'll eat their lunch in their classroom.

Two weeks into the school year, the on-line lessons will become available and if they can't go to school they'll be able to learn.

That's the plan anyhoo!

Some normalcy?

 I'm back in my office this week, for the week, and it's ... ... good to be back?

I didn't think it would be, but so far, day 1, it's ok!

We'll see how I manage domoestic chore-ing what has to get done when I get home, of course.

I'm less upset and bewildered about than I thought I would be.

The plan:

0800 take The Peanuts to Summer Camp

0800 Cleaning lady comes over and deepcleans

0900 go to the office at Prairie University

1000 two simultaneous meetings

1200 pickup the Peanuts

1300 Babysitter comes over

EVENING Relax

The execution:

0700 realize that Peanut #1 has mouth-physio appointment at 0800, so modify above plan to include the Project Manager to share childcare duties because only one kid allowed in the clinic

0800 get to appointment

0830 realize appointment will be 90 minutes

0850 drop Peanut #2 at Summer Camp

0900 push 1000 meeting #2 to 1400

0905 cleaning lady snaps off kitchen faucet

0930 go pick up Project Manager and Peanut #1, take Project Manager to work

0945 find out Peanut #1 needs oral surgery

1000 join meeting #1 by phone, secretly in the car

1030 Get to Stupid Mall to buy clothes for Peanut #1

1031 realize Stupid Mall opens at 1100

1103 buy clothes

1200 pick up Peanut #2 at summer camp

1204 rig temporary water supply in kitchen

1205 Babysitter cancels, push all meetings to the next day

1206 have beer

EVENING: Fix kitchen faucet

Almost there....

Our self-isolation ends tomorrow, and we are celebrating with a quick camping trip in the city. It's gonna be great!

The girls continue to be super independent, thank goodness, and that's a huge burden off of me :D

But they do need OTHER people, very badly, so we hope to be hanging out with more people soon.

Isolation continues!

I am not doing as well managing work and home this week, and the kitchen is showing the impact, unfortunately! But you know, it's ok! The Peanuts are doing very well and being super independent and keeping themselves happy!

We got a new kitten, and integrating the new kitten has been fun. Our big fat male cat is a bit rough with her, but the ASPCA says, I think, that this is normal play.

Our old tiny female cat is not involved in any kitten-ing around the place.

I really don't mind this working from home, have I mentioned that?

Test results

So the Peanuts and I are negative as regards the pandemic, so good, we didn't spread it, but bad, because now we have to self-isolate for another 2 weeks starting at the end of the Project Manager's self-isolation period, because she was positive.

She's under a lot of pressure to get tested again because we think it was a false positive. But does it matter? Not really.

So we read, and we do crafts, and I work from home.

I was very ... ill... possibly in my brain... last week and could not get anything done, and had this ongoing every day headache that I couldn't assign a cause to, nor avoid.

But yesterday morning it was gone! and I was back to my normal self. I think it was the stress of the self-isolation period making itself known in a quiet way.

So there's this pandemic going on, see...

And the Project Manager has caught "the 'rona" and is self-isolating. From everyone.

The Peanuts and I are also self-isolating from her, and we have a test booked for Saturday morning to see if we are also 'rona-positive.

We got a new kitten, who is also self-isolating from the cats, so the PM and the Kitten are in the spare room together, hunkered down. I'm a little worried because she's been in there with the lights off, but maybe that's how she prefers it?

I shall monitor this, and try to keep the wheels on for the fortnight or so that this will last. TWO WEEKS, possibly. And, if the Peanuts test negative, then another week after that because they have to self-isolate until the Health Experts are sure that they didn't catch the 'rona from the PM.
